BJDBaby Review; Part 2

Ok, so it's been about 15 days since I have placed my order with BJDBaby, and while that seems like forever (especially by some other recaster standards) I have been getting updates, so that makes it much better!!

I made it a point to NOT bother the owner every day - or at least frequently- (like we all sometimes bother S/L over orders :P). BUT that doesn't mean I haven't checked in now and then.
With such a big order and with a recaster I know little about, (especially when I'm trying to write all about it here!) I like to check in now and then.

So far I've talked with her 3 times. Each time she got back to me quickly and politely (and still with wonderful English!).
The second time (September 11th) she had pictures of two of my 4 dolls to share and I wanted to share them here with you :D

As you can see the color is spot on (yay!! omg he's sooooooo wonderful!) and ALL the parts are actually shown! I've gotten dolls before that are missing fantasy parts or human parts, but she has included everything like I asked (the extra head and the human parts) and that color *sighs* it's so pretty :3
I also want to make mention of the fact that the doll looks to be solid, my Soom Beyla from Luo is kicky, she's been restrung, but she just doesn't pose fantastically. Normally recasters don't take a lot of time with sending photos (think of all the photo's you've gotten where your doll's hands are backwards, or the arm is bent at a weird angle, legs aren't straight etc) So either she takes her time with the photos, or the doll actually poses well x)
Also I'm pleased that the fantasy parts are the right ones, Calypso (my Beyla) has Glot feet instead of Beyla hooves (I don't know if BJD Baby has the right feet... but damn I am curious :3)

Aww look at her <3 isn't she a cutie!! Again, the doll is correct, the skin tone is spot on, the face looks perfect, and the hands and feet are obviously magnetic (I know in the past with certain recasters the dolls are fused together at the feet and hands) I also can't help but notice that the hips are facing the correct way, which (hopefully) means she has the clicky parts in her legs :3 I just asked today (the third time I've contacted her) if she remembered to install the magnets in her head like I had asked.
Wow! Ok so as I was typing this she responded saying that the Littlefee does have the magnets in her head :3 so we will have to check when she arrives (but damn I hope so!)
When asked about the Pukifee she replied: "the pukifee skull is small" x) I don't know if they normally just don't do it or don't feel comfortable, but I asked if they can't/won't put them in if she could send extra magents so I can attempt it :3

Both dolls appear to be strung well enough, I will let you know if they're strung the correct way (aka Littlefee through the hip joint for the legs, not through the head) and if they're strung well/able to pose. But as of right now, I'm feeling pretty pleased, and fairly confident in this order!
She told me that Andes is being processed today (and checked with me about her color-which was nice)
She said all the dolls should ship by next weekend which would put her just a little past the 3 week mark that she had quoted me, which again, is ok as I am being given information as the weeks go on :)

Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for reading!

BJDBaby Review, Part 1

Hi all!!
It's been a while since I've used this blog, I've been SO busy with my 365 picture blog that I haven't had much time to write here!

I wanted to make this blog though and a few others soon to follow about a recaster known as BJDBaby.

Some of you have said some horrid things, some of you say some very good things. As an admin of one of the recast groups on Facebook I find it very hard to either recommend or tell people to avoid them without more evidence.

First things first, I found her/him (I never can tell with these names ><) on Facebook, and proceeded to have a conversation with her. Boy was I surprised! Her English was great! She answered promptly and answered ALL of my questions... and there were a lot!
Here's some of what I found out:
Dolls take about 3 weeks to make if they're not in stock already
Dolls are mailed by FedEx
They WILL send pictures before they mail your doll
You can check to see if a doll is fullset, or just certain faceplates... and they will actually go and check! (she did this with two different dolls, to see if there was a sleeping plate available and if one doll had hooks or magnets in it's hands!)
You can order additional heads, bodies, hands etc without the whole doll
She is willing to put the magnets in the headcaps of my dolls (instead of filling with resin) which is rare
They do offer gifts for large purchases (as I have now found out....)

After talking for about 3 hours (I find that amazing, that she was willing to answer me so immediately and for so long)
I did what any (in)sane doll person would do....
I placed an order.... for 4 dolls from them ><

I know... I know... 4 dolls from a company with mixed reviews, I must be out of my mind. And while I may be, I also have a reason for my madness (besides them all being adorable and great prices) I got dolls of different make, different sizes, different skin tones and different body types.

I ordered;
Littlefee Flora, open eye plate only (they don't have the closed one yet) in normal skin
Soom Taco both human faceplate and animal faceplate, with fantasy body and parts in the minty blue shown on the site (horns clear resin)
Soom Pandy regular (which will be black and white resin)
and Soom Andes full deer set in white
Oh and since I ordered so much I'm getting a Pukifee Ante for free :D

After placing my order I received and email confirmation of what I ordered (including skin color and any extras- like the extra Taco head) to check before getting an invoice

Ok so that's what I have so far on BJDBaby thus far. I will let you know how things progress in the next three weeks! Hopefully it'll be smooth sailing :)

Busy Bee's

Wow! So things have been busy for me lately. I have been doing this "Picture a Day" thing on here (check it out http://365intheattic.blogspot.com) and that's eaten up a lot of my time. I've been crafting and job searching and a bunch of other things. But I wanted to stop in and say HI :)
The tinies have been busy, they're trying to earn enough money for a few houses (as well as to bring home a few more friends!) They have been hard at work making tiny coloring books for faeries, pixies, tinies, whatever you may call them!!

and they're REALLY excited to tell you that they're finally up for sale here: http://www.etsy.com/people/thebutterfliesattic

In other news...

The boys learned not to trust the girls sewing abilities on a GIANT sewing machine (

The tinies got to play in a BUNCH of beautiful snow (http://365intheattic.blogspot.com/2013/01/day-25-snow.html)

And Lumi learned that she has magical abilities (I am dreading her realizing she doesn't need a wand to use magic -_-) (http://365intheattic.blogspot.com/2013/01/day-21-wands-for-sale.html)

So if you're not already checking out the picture of the day, I encourage you to! There is a lot of fun to be had by all!!
Calypso should be home tomorrow from her trip to the 'spa' and I can't wait to share pictures with everyone :D

I'll try to update again soon ^_^

Tiny Sewing Troubles

So as I have been mentioning in my picture a day blog (found here) the tinies have been pining for a craft shop of their own. Last night I left my sewing machine out and this morning I woke to tiny murmurings and the sound of the machine.
"Goodmorning!!"
"Hi Paige... what is going on?"
"The girls and I decided to make some stuff for the boys. It's just not right for them to be walking around *giggles* naked"

Lumi: "We thought it would be good practice for when we finally get our own shop"
"Oh really?"
Lumi: "Yup!! But your machine is a little too big for us. Look how big this is!!"
"Hmm it is pretty big."
Lumi: "We'd like one our size in our shop. It's hard to get things to be the right size on SUCH a big sewing machine"

"So what are you guys sewing?"
Rhea: "You'll see I think Iris is bringing in our models now!"
"Models?".... this should be interesting

Paige: "Are they ready?"
Iris: "Logan is excited, but Caleb seems a little... well..."

Logan: "Hey guys!! Check us OUT"
Caleb: "You can't be serious.... you actually *like* what you're wearing? Have you not noticed the-
Logan: "noticed what?!"

Logan: "Hey why are you all laughing back there? Did someone tell a joke!?"
Girls: *giggle*

Caleb: "Come on Logan, lets go order some clothes that'll fit us"
Logan: "Ok!! But I'm keeping this jacket!"
Caleb: *sigh*

*adds to to-do-list* Find tiny sewing machine

Meet Lumi

WOW!! This place is GREAT! I just got here yesterday and already made some new friends, played in the snow and now I'm being allowed to use the other girls laptop to introduce myself on *there* blog!
I am a lucky pixie!!

Anyways, earlier today I was using Ms. Megans' computer to look up some names. Can you believe they have websites for that!!
but man it was hard trying to type and move this mouse....
"Whatcha doing little one?"
"Oh hi Megan! I'm trying to pick a name!"

"But it's really hard to type on this computer with my little hands"
"I'm sure the others wouldn't mind if you borrowed their laptop, I bought it for all of you to use!"
"Really?! Thanks Ms. Megan"
"You can just call me Megan"
"Ok Ms. Megan"
"...."
Oh yeah this is MUCH easier, hmm ok back to searching!
"WHAT DOING?!"
"Oh hi Danbo, I'm trying to decide what I want you all to call me!"

"YOU HAVE NAME ALREADY!"
"I do?"
"YOU BROUGHT ME SNOW, YOUR NAME LUMI!"
"Lumi?"
"MEANS SNOW! IN FINNISH!!" *giggles*
"Lumi.... Danbo it's perfect!!"

*kisses*
DANNNNBO *hehe*

Well I guess that's that! My name is Lumi! I really like it a lot and am so happy to have a name at long last :D
But wow, I didn't know that Danbo knew Finnish.... guess when you're a robot you know everything? I think I'm going to go talk with him now...
Thanks for reading, can't wait to tell you more about what we're up to here :D

Bon Voyage!

Ok I know I know, I totally copied and pasted from my main blog, I'm sorry -_- to make up for it I'll post a TON of pictures of Paige ok!?
I just wanted to share this here too cause not everyone who comes here checks out my other blog (you should :P LOL)
Anyways:Things are changing here at my house, parting ways with lots of things and finding new homes for some dolls and old toys.
A dear friend of mine from the Wylde Kingdom is giving a home to my Addy and dear Mia American Girl dolls. We're doing a swap and a little tiny pixie bjd is coming here!
Everyone is excited to meet their new family and friends, but there were some heartfelt goodbyes here. I thought I'd share the pictures of the girls all ready for their journey since it's been forever since I posted. I (as usual) have a bunch of projects in the works and will share some pictures ASAP, I also downloaded the blogger app on my phone, I'll have to give that a try too ;)

Mia wanted to write a letter to her new family to explain a bit about her and Addy and my lack of patterns I sent x)
Addy is checking out the newest AG catalogue and is hopeful to pick out some clothes, she's NOT happy about being shipped in the buff!

Mia made sure to pack a bottle of water for the two to share and a few extra things to do on the plane ride.

The girls before they left :) Addy has some major eye/nose problems, I think someone loved her a little too hard before I got her (and a little to close to sharp/hot objects) Miranda and I joked that she should have an eye patch, while it's not the most glamorous thing, it's super cute for a last minute idea ;) Addy doesn't know it yet, but Wendy and Miranda have made arrangements for her to go to the American Girl Doll Hospital for some surgery to fix her boo-boos, she's gonna be SO excited!!

They will be missed, but I know they will be VERY loved in their new home :)
Can't wait to see what you all in the Kingdom have in store for them!

A Picture a Day

Hi all
So it's been a bit since I posted, the holidays were WONDERFUL. A new BJD named Paige joined the family here at the Attic. She has been getting LOTS of lot, and I will be posting a BUNCH of pictures of her soon!
But in the mean time I wanted to tell you all that we are going to be trying a "Picture a Day" blog. I've always wanted to do one, and the girls have agreed to help me keep on track with this. So I wanted to post a link to the blog and encourage you all to join me on my quest to post a picture a day for the year 2013 :D
http://365intheattic.blogspot.com/

I'll be back later to post pictures of Paige... just have to get all my memory cards together... I hate when you run out of room on one x)
